Career Story

Following graduation from Florida State University, a 6-month cross-county road trip, and a summer internship with a bridge design firm, I found my calling with residential engineering at Apex’s Mid-Atlantic office. After accumulating design experience by performing work for clients across the country, I found myself back in Jacksonville working on engineered designs in hurricane prone regions.

Through the Mid-Atlantic’s diverse design portfolio, I have gained experience with a broad spectrum of services, everything from lean building practices and prescriptive code compliance for production builders to specialized engineered design solutions for custom homes. Now as a licensed design professional, design experience in Florida has introduced new materials and different design criteria (a little less snow, a little more wind) but, the goal remains the same: Foster an environment based on trust and collaboration between Builders, Trades, and Building Officials to develop structural design programs that work for everyone.

Personal Touch

Outside of the office, you can find me on the Ultimate Frisbee field. Whether it’s playing in the local pickup game, traveling nationally or internationally for a tournament, or coaching the local traveling club team, I spend A LOT of free time playing the sport I love.

Industry Involvement

Apex is an active member of multiple local industry organizations including the SBCA, GOBA, and NEFBA.
