In 1994, I completed an apprenticeship with Norfolk Shipbuilding in Norfolk, VA. During my apprenticeship, I had the opportunity to work in the engineering department and learned how to use AutoCAD. After my apprenticeship, I worked with a local volume homebuilder in Southeast Virginia where I learned and developed a passion for residential construction. In 1996, I moved to Jacksonville, Fl to further my career with Southeastern Metal Manufacturers (SEMCO), and in 1999, Casey Carrigan offered me a job with Apex as the field service rep. I did all the truss repairs for True Truss and Builder First Source as well as Apex structural repairs.

In 2001, the truss designers were moved from True Truss to Apex and I began to manage the truss design department. During this time, I continued to be the primary point of contact for many of our clients, as well as the sub-contractors. I also I worked with the engineers to develop many of the systems and processes used for our production accounts.

In 2016, I was promoted to an operations role with Apex-TDS where I currently enjoy developing and implementing new systems and looking for ways to continuously improve the quality and turnaround times of our designs.
