Career Story

Prior to working at Apex I had very little knowledge of residential construction. In June of 2014 I was given an opportunity to join the Apex team as an Entry Level Designer. The company was eager to see if they could train a new hire with no previous construction or program knowledge. I was grateful for the opportunity, and fortunate to have been trained by very experienced Designers and Engineers. Throughout the next handful of years, I spent time learning how to engineer and design residential construction documents.   During that time Apex continued to grow and I was given opportunities to advance as well. I was elevated to a Lead Designer and was responsible for managing the workload for a few individuals on our team. During our continued growth it became apparent that design standards, document management, training, and efficiency needed greater focus within the design staff. The Production Department was birthed and as a result our department continued to grow. Over the next few years, I worked into becoming one of the leaders of the Department. Currently in my role as Sr. Production Manager I directly oversee the largest team in Apex. Our team is filled with a wealth of knowledge, skills, potential and personality. The culture and core values at Apex have played a huge part in allowing me to grow during my career. I am grateful to be a part of Apex.

Personal Touch

I am happily married. My wife and I are expecting our first child, a boy, in February 2021. Family and friends are what is most important in my life and I spend most of my time outside of working with them. Outside of that I am also a huge sports fan, specifically anything involving Florida State. Coaching youth football is a passion of mine as well. I have coached youth football with my father for 10 years. I am a big believer in the life lessons that can be taught through sport.

Industry Involvement

I have attended NEFBA events and College Career Fairs. I have also spent some time with local high schools who have design programs.
