SUMMARY:   

The Specialist is under the direct stewardship of the Production Associate (AS) or Production Department Manager (PDM). The Specialist serves as the primary resource for time-intensive design and drawing/modeling tasks for producing construction documents. The Specialist operates in a fast-paced environment where a disciplined nature, resourcefulness, and attention to detail are critical. The Specialist position is considered to be an expert producer in their discipline. The individual is expected to operate independently with little to no feedback or correction, primarily on Product Development, and to take an active part in the development and maintenance of process and procedures, and training materials; as well as, assist with the training of Designers at all levels. The role is intended to be the top spot for those who are not on a management track but are expected to participate in knowledge transfer and team development.


 
PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Drafting, Design, and Plan Development
    • Prepare Base Plans for Product Development
    • Assist with the Development and Maintenance of Drafting Standards
    • Assist with improvement of drafting/modeling tools
    • Prepare Site Specific Construction Documents as needed
    • Revise Construction Documents as needed
  • Project Tracking and Communication
    • Maintain log of work performed
    • Effectively track time and job status to maintain efficient workflow
    • Efficient and Competent use of project tracking software
    • Assist with prioritization of projects and workflows to increase efficiency
    • Communicate effectively with AS/PDM
  • Team Management, Mentoring and Training
    • Mentoring and training Designers on software, client and account standards
  • Account Case & Maintenance
    • Review Construction Documents as directed by AS/PDM, providing quality control and education opportunities for Designers using company provided/documented standards

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of drafting experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit/Applicable Discipline Specific software
  • Advanced knowledge of ability to prepare Construction Documents
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction techniques and Building Code
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Deltek experience preferred

General Office Environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
