SUMMARY:

The Structural Sr. Project Manager (PM) position assumes proficiency of the Jr. PM position and is under the direct stewardship of the Division Lead. The Sr. PM is directly responsible for managing the accounts, projects, and teams that they are assigned. The intent of the Senior level is to be the authority for true management of content and resource development. The individual has the experience and leadership skills necessary to focus on transfer of knowledge, development of subject matter and solving issues surrounding building code compliance. The individual will be expected to participate in strategy and planning for resource allocation and product development.



PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Project Management
    • Initial point of contact for Central Processing, Customer Service, Production Department and the Client for all new & existing Product Development, Builder/Trade partner meetings, consulting and the communication and resolution of field issues and project status
    • The primary on status and efficient management of projects
    • Responsible for managing their team to meet deadlines, answer questions, solve problems, and improve the profitability of accounts
    • Manage project workflow and communication across all applicable departments
    • Assist with development of Scope of Work and pricing discussions for new and existing projects
    • Assist with Onboarding of new Clients and Projects to help define workflows and scheduling
    • Ensure pricing standards for Clients and Accounts are properly applied to projects
    • Track projects for completion and report status to accounting for invoicing
    • Regularly review account performance and communicate with manager on status
  • Drafting and Plan Development
    • Responsible for the technical accuracy of construction documents for all clients and projects they are assigned
    • Assist with the preparation Construction Documents and details as needed
    • Solve all problems within their knowledge and experience and consult manager on anything out of their knowledge and experience
  • Project Tracking and Communication
    • Maintain log of work performed
    • Effectively track time and job status to maintain efficient workflow
    • Efficient and competent use of project tracking software
    • Report to and communicate effectively with manager and Clients regarding project status
  • Team Management, Mentoring and Training
  • Weekly review and approval of timesheets
  • Mentoring and training Designers and Associates
  • Assist with effective knowledge transfer through the implementation of training practices and quality assurance processes
  • Annually review Jr. PM performance
  • Report to and communicate effectively with manager regarding mentorship and training efforts
  • Company Development and Growth
    • Provide feedback for the improvement of design tools and workflows to increase efficiency
    • Participate on committees and work on special projects as assigned
  • Use available resources efficiently and effectively
  • All other assigned duties

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required and professional licensure
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of related experience, including management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit/Applicable Discipline specific software
  • Advanced knowledge of ability to prepare Construction Documents
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction techniques and the Building Code
  • Intermediate knowledge of best industry practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Deltek experience preferred
