SUMMARY:   

The Designer I is under the direct stewardship of the Production Associate (AS) or Production Department Manager (PDM). The Designer I serves as the primary resource for time-intensive design and drawing/modeling tasks for producing construction documents. The Designer I operates in a fast-paced environment where a disciplined nature, resourcefulness, and attention to detail are critical. The Designer I position is intended as entry level and where individuals will have the opportunity to learn overall Core Values and be introduced to discipline specific standards.



PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Drafting, Design, and Plan Development
    • Prepare Site Specific Construction Documents
    • Revise Construction Documents as directed
    • Adhere to Drafting Standards
  • Project Tracking and Communication
    • Maintain log of work performed
    • Effectively track time and job status to maintain efficient workflow
    • Efficient and Competent use of project tracking software
    • Communicate effectively with AS/PDM
  • Use available resources efficiently and effectively
  • All other assigned duties

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Beginner Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit software preferred
  • Beginner knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to think critically to complete design tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to take ownership of the production process and the resulting finished product
  • Task driven with a strong attention to detail
  • Excel at meeting deadlines by utilizing good communication and prioritization skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

General Office Environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
